Sooo…is the shop still a thing? As someone with a delivery window some time between the next 8-16 weeks, I’m now super eager since there are 7,500 reasons to get one before end of December. I’m terrified to change my config.

I'd love to know this too, as I have a Dec-Jan delivery window so it might be nice to get access, although I'm pretty set on my configuration as it is.

Did you get the “binding” purchase agreement from Rivian? That would allow you to get the 2022 credit even if you take delivery in the future. You would just have to amend your 2022 tax form.

While it's a nice gesture, neither the IRS nor any tax professionals that I've spoken to can confidently confirm that the agreement will be honored. I'd rather err on the side of caution if I'm going that route.

At the end of the day, I'll survive. Really the only thing I'm willing to compromise on is wheels since there's a healthy aftermarket that'll ensure I have a buffer should I decide to swap with someone.

True, that BPA could end up not working out. But for those of us who were always going to take delivery after 2022 it's all we can hold onto vs the new credit with the weird battery sourcing requirements, etc.

Hope you get the one you originally configured and don't have to compromise.

I just chose a GW R1T with 20" AT's from the R1T Shop on Monday.

Rivian had GW, EC and RB available. VIN was just under 14k and none had tonneau covers or spare tires.

Last weekend I snagged my config that I had planned minus max pack.
Was the only one with underbody shield, powered tonneau and a spare
Others had a spare or shield. No others had power tonneau. Probably about 15 options. I’m in central NC

I was just given "Shop Access" tonight, I don't see anything in my email referring to "1 week access" as the OP's first post in this thread showed.

I received access to the shop last night. There were 8 or 9 trucks. Now there are only 4. 3 EC w/ OC interior. 1 GW w/ FE interior.

I emailed my Guide to see when Rivian is going to start producing 2023 VIN's as I may just wait it out at this point to get a 2023 vs a 2022 which will be a year old in 32 days.

Resale value... I generally keep vehicles about 3yrs.
In Jan 2023 a vehicle that got delivered in Dec 2022 is already "a year old" even though it might have been manufactured in Dec 2022 and in reality is only a month old.
It's purely for getting the newest year on the Title for the eventual resale.

There was 1. El Cap FE interior. No longer there. I thought about it but the FE is just not my style.
