First Long trip

Posted is the travel log for taking our granddaughter to college in Lynchburg, VA, from NC. Besides over the road travel at Limit+5 or so, lots of local errands and short trips. Stopped at Wytheville on I-81 both ways not 72 hours apart. On the way up, all EA chargers were working and we gulped kW from the 350 “pump” but on the way back, a repair guy (NOT impressed with him) was there working on both 350’s (unavailable) and only one 150 was useable. Goes to show how things can change quickly and how finicky they can be. Wife still isn’t 100% sold on EV travel but she has an open mind as long as anticipated charge stations are up and running.

Why were you not impressed with the technician? Did they fail to produce the required Form 27B-6 upon demand?

I attempted to strike up a conversation with him but he just ignored me so I went about my business. The 150 was working so I plugged in and we walked across the street to Bojangles and ate lunch. 35 minutes later we walked back and the R1T was charged up and ready to do so off we went.

I can only image what my already skeptical wife would do if we hit a bank of inop chargers without a reasonable alternative. *THAT"S* what is in the mind of every single future (and present) EV person. Local is a breeze with my Rivian 48A charger hanging on the wall. Over the road is the worrisome thing.
