First (for me) Gen 2 R1S Refresh Spotted in Austin

Might already be late to the party, but I stopped by this morning to drop my truck off for service and saw my first refreshed R1S. Overall I think the slight exterior changes are for the better. I really like the new stadium lights and the chiseled light bar still feels like it follows the "softer" design language of the truck. The segmented charging bar, while visible, still blends in like the regular black trim pieces on a pre-refresh R1, so the new light bar does look much smaller than a pre-refresh

This also appears to be a dual motor, which was nice to compare against my Perf. Dual. The new Aero rims look much better in person imo, but the lack of tow hooks does make the front look a little more empty.

Has anyone figured out or explained what that hash mark on the door handle is? is that to indicate where you'd hold the keycard?

It's for Phone As A Key and Apple Watch Keys, as well as the key card. They changed the tech on that.

Yes Gen2 R1S is available in Austin. We did our test drive (Gen2 LA Silver + Dual + Standard) today evening at Austin Space.

Agree, this technology is ten times safer than Bluetooth, and it still works even when your iPhone battery is drained to 0%.
