Dropped my T off this AM for its first-ever service, to correct door alignment issues since day 1, the all too common dash rumble/rattle and 7,500 mile maintenance (which includes rotation). They said they might not be able to address the dash since it's only noticeable on rough roads and hot days. They also said it would take a day or so to complete all work... based on tales shared, I'm skeptical but we'll see!

Things they added to the work order and consistent with tales shared by other owners:
  • 12V replacement (June '23 build according to placard, last day of May according to Rivian Roamer dashboard)
  • Replacement of 3 seals on the mobile charger
  • Inspection of front hub bolts

Other notables:
  • Very nice and clean SC. Three service advisors working the lounge/reception. And, like other SCs, some Gear Shop items are available for purchase on-site. Hoodies, water bottles, etc..
  • There is a coffee machine and a small fridge (didn't look what's in it, probably bottled water).
  • Lots of new cars out back, inventory and/or awaiting delivery.
  • Overheard one staff member tell a customer, being a new SC, they don't have many loaners allocated to them. When they do have them, they are quickly spoken for. They hooked me up with an enterprise rental a few blocks down the street (Foothill branch). Enterprise came to pick me and another owner up. But, if walking, it's only about 10 minutes. If you get a rental, you do not need to return vehicle back to Enterprise (optional). You can leave it at the SC. You also don't need to refuel to same level; Rivian will cover that.

I have my truck there currently for subframe replacement. Took it to CM SC at least five times for alignment issues and they never did anything. One visit at the Lake Forest site and they realized it needed the new and updated subframe. I’ll likely be going there from now on.

Yah I think CM is just too small and too busy. Lounge area is less than half the size.

Update: So it appears I was right to be skeptical. Just before 2 pm today I received message via app that my truck has just been assigned to a tech, 2.5 working days after drop off. On another note, I requested for the full size spare to be put into rotation, they did not object (unlike some tales that have been shared in the past of other SCs).

Update: 7 working days after drop-off and close to 4 days after being notified of a tech being assigned—they were closed on MLK Jr. Day—the appointment was completed by last Friday afternoon. All door alignments are now within spec (the way it should have left the factory). Despite being a year past the adjustment period, they did not charge me. In process of adjusting one of the doors, tech accidentally bunched up a small portion of PPF, at the edge, about size of a small screw head. Very minor. Sounded worse than it is when they first told me about it on the phone. My assigned service advisor, Byron. He got permission from his manager (whom I did not meet) and they are offering to cover cost of fixing/replacing the PPF if I forward them an invoice/estimate.

Summary of work order:
  1. 7500 mi maintenance—Multi-point inspection and tire rotation. Asked them put full size spare into rotation, they did as requested. Cost $200.
  2. Perform FSAM-1326—While working with the full size spare, they noticed two tools were missing. Extender with hook (Part# PT01217229-A) and Extender (Part# PT01217230-A). Cost $0.
  3. Perform FSAM-1197—Clean portable charger pins and install 3 new seals. Cost $0.
  4. Door panel adjustment—Lined up all body lines. Door skin bulging around rear passenger handle is also gone. Cost $0.
  5. Perform FSAM-1287—Evacuated and recharge [AC] refrigerant due to overfill. Cost $0.
  6. 12V replacement—Proactive service campaign. Mine was built with just one (6/23 build). Cost $0.
  7. Perform FSAM-1507—Proactive service campaign. Tighten all hub to knuckle fasteners. Cost $0.
  8. Dash rattle/rumble—I get this most in the dead of summer or on rough roads. It's been chilly here. Tech took it out and could not replicate. Advises saving it for another time, document it or have a tech ride along on a specific day or road where it happens. No appointment necessary, just stop by the SC.
I did not have interaction with (or was introduced to) assigned tech. But he did a great job as far as I can tell. All three service advisors working the front-of-house were welcoming and helpful. Byron kept in touch almost every single day via mobile app, even when there was no news.

Service capacity at this juncture is what it is. But, I think for the most part, most staff are doing the best they can. Be kind and understanding. Honey gets you bees.
