Thought this little hack might come in handy for someone else. After trying a bunch of different sleeping pads, I landed on the new Therm-a-Rest NeoLoft. It's super comfortable, and packs down to be tiny (about the size of a water bottle), so I can leave it under the floor all the time, because it seems like I find myself sleeping in my R1S pretty regularly. I wanted to figure out a way to easily inflate it, and this is what I came up with:

  • 6' female-to-female air hose (I had this made by an etsy seller, it's been FANTASTIC. So nice to not have to get out the super long included hose all the time)
  • Hose blow out adapter (for winterizing a house). I I bought this one
  • 1" inner diameter PVC tubing with hose clamps. I bought this one
You just hook it up, tighten the hose clamp around the sleeping pad inlet, press go, and about 2 minutes later you're ready to roll. I also bought a mini phillips screwdriver to keep with this kit so it's easy to tighten and loosen the hose clamp-- it only takes about 2 turns of the screwdriver to put it on/take it off.
