I drove through some heavy rain this weekend, and noticed that I could feel the windshield wipers through the accelerator pedal — there's a "bump" in the pedal when the wipers change direction at both ends of its travel. It's most noticeable at the highest wiper setting; less so on the lower settings. Is that … supposed to happen?

And you're sure you're not driving a Cybertruck?

I've felt this as well. Not always, but once or twice. A nuisance, but eventually I was able to ignore it.

Yes, I've felt this. Think I posted about it once a while back. I have essentially gotten used to it and barely notice it now.

Unexpected vibrations always make me a little nervous (makes me wonder if I've broken something, have a flat tire, etc), but good to know that I'm not the only one with this. I already have a service appointment scheduled in a few months; I'm thinking I might as well file a service request and see if they can reduce it (but not a big deal if they can't).

They're both attached directly to the bulkhead (typically referred to as the firewall in an ICE vehicle). While they could have done a better job isolating this, it's nothing to be worried about. In warmer weather, you're likely to feel the AC compressor running as well.

I noticed it too, every time wipers are on.
Never had this in any other car I've owned, so I was alarmed at first too, but then I remembered its Rivian and they haven't learned how to properly build vehicle yet.

But do you get a squeak from the wiper after it wipes? I get this after a few minutes of the wipers being on...annoying.

This can be fixed by replacing OEM wipers with a better quality ones, I've had good experience with RainX and PIAA in the past.

And avoid buying them from Costco or Walmart, somehow they get lower quality stuff even though label will look similar.

I think the squeak I get is from where the arm attaches to the motor, unfortunately...like the rubber grommet that keeps water out of the dash area is too tight...not sure.

I only get squeaking if the wipers are running on dry glass (I often control my wipers manually because I usually want my wipers running faster than auto-wipers will make them go)

It's noticeable here as well. Hopefully there is a fix for it because I was driving in a heavy rain when I noticed it. One pedal driving with a combination of trying to be cautious in the rain made it appear even more prevalent.

Easy to determine. Swing the arms up and away from the windshield, then it on and see if the noise is gone..
