Hey all! I sold my R1T a few months ago-- the range just wasn't what I needed for off-road adventure, and so I put my R1T proceeds into my Land Cruiser, which is awesome now.

But, I miss the Rivian for daily driving, and I'm thinking about buying an R1S. I know the early reviews said that the ride wasn't as good, but I'd love to know some real impressions from folks who either have both, or have switched over.

I had an R1T for about 15 months and then traded it in for an R1S which I've had for 4 months. While the R1T maybe handled potholed roads a bit better/softer, I actually think the R1S handles better overall and is much more fun to drive. I find it to be more nimble. I always felt the R1T was just too long. Very happy with my switch

I switched last July, so not a particularly early build R1S. Drives better IMO and prefer the shorter wheelbase and increased maneuverability. The one thing I miss is the gear tunnel - that was awesome to have!

edit to add: the driving characteristics changed considerably over the updates last fall. Big improvements that may have fixed others initial feeling that the R1S wasn’t as refined.
