Adaptive cruise acting strange when passing trucks

While using cruise control say at 70mph and in center lane of a multi lane highway following and pacing a vehicle in front of me all is good. As soon as I approach a semi in right lane and attempt to pass my vehicle slows and does not recover original set speed for some time. Appears semi to my right confuses the system. Anyone else notice this

Yes it's always caused problems. It's worse with multi trailer trucks. The system gets confused thinking there is a car in front of the truck in your lane.

Thanks glad it is just not me. May submit a ticket just so tech support keeps this on their radar for future fixes.

I have the same issue, it is reading a vehicle in the next lane that's going slower as if it were in your lane. Happens to me almost every day. Hopefully Rivian can come up with an update to help with this.

Had similar issue with a truck several years ago, can’t remember if it was my Ford or Ram, but it would slam on the brakes when close to a polished fuel tanker. Software update narrowed field of front camera detection enough to resolve issue. Hopefully that easy to fix for Rivian

Just submitted a service request. Not asking for my truck to go necessarily but suggesting they take just about any truck in the shop and take it on the expressway. Hopefully a fix will appear sooner rather than later

Have to admit this issue is easier to live with then when my Tesla occasionally slams on the regen braking at 70mph when it sees an overhead bridge structure crossing the highway ahead and thinks it is an obstacle in the road.
