Yeah, for me setting up L2+V2H would add over $10k to the price of the vehicle. Just not that much of a priority for me.

If I'm buying or building a new house, you bet it's on my wishlist. But not gonna retrofit it in any hurry.

Ford leak note to dealers is freaking out all the reservation holders. What a mess. I hope my delivery window with Rivian is sooner than Ford so I don’t have to deal with dealers:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/?-official-info-f-150-lightning-reservations-to-order-conversion-invitation-process-dealer-pricing-options.7399/
My dealer just called and quoted this leaked notice word for word. I knew more about how the ordering process would supposedly go than he did. I'm waiting for my Rivian. I'm over dealing with the dealerships. I'm a day 1 lightning reservation holder and have zero confidence I would get it in 2022. Just look to the bronco forums. Tons of July 2020 reservation holders still waiting for their rigs.

Many of us fleet reservation holders got order info today... But no finalized pricing and no ability to order for now. It seems fleet orders will be invited in January when retail orders are starting, not before like their communication yesterday indicated. This is a total clusterf@%k of epic proportions. Back when Ford screwed all the Bronco reservation holders, I placed reservations for two Explore package R1Ts. It was a bit pre-IPO, but still pretty recent. I'm figuring they will still fill all our company EV truck needs and cost about the same as ER battery XLT Lightings and if our Lighting Pro orders slip into mid 2023, I'd rather give the money to Rivian.

I have been a long-time Ford guy. But the whole Bronco situation has really pissed me off. If they screw with Lightning customers and do the same handing of allocations to their bigger dealership conglomerates and not honoring reservations based on first come, first served, I'm probably done with Ford. I have purchased an average of 12+ Ford trucks/SUVs between business and personal every year for the past 18~20 years. And I've already sent a couple nasty emails to Ford over the Bronco reservations. Spoke with one of their corporate / regional sales specialists. Of course that guy was apologetic and wanted to accommodate me. Yet he can't actually do anything.n I'm a day-one Bronco reservation holder who still can't order a Bronco because at first my desired options were not available to order. Some options still not available, but more than that, they've cut all the small and mid-size dealerships out of the loop for allocations... Reservations be damned.

To make matters worse, they're supposed to have 2, maybe 3, special edition Broncos for 2022. They announced the first, the Everglades Edition, today. Looks cool... I can't actually order it. I can contact one of the bigger national chain dealerships who are getting allocations and put my name on some list of suckers who are willing to pay a minimum of $20K premium to get one and hope to order one. F*%K You, Ford. Seriously... F@$k you very much.

There are three dealerships I work with. I like all of them for certain things, but they have all treated me well over the years and value me as a customer. They are so pissed off at Ford for the Bronco situation that two of them may be dropping their Ford franchise over it. One of them for sure if their Lightning customers get screwed.

Sorry... rant over. I had a couple people DM me and at least one ask in the forums how much it is to add the ER battery to the XL trim $40K Lighting Pro. The answer is, I don't know! They won't say. Looks like we don't get official or final pricing until we are invited to order. :(

Even though Rivian price tag is more than I would like to pay, it's purchase and ownership is something I am looking forward to. Thinking about buying a Ford stresses the crap out of me. Everyone that wants to separate you from your money understands that they need to remove all obstetrical until your money is in their pocket. Even after Tesla business model succeeded, Ford still has not figured out how to make that happen. For $30K price difference, I will put up with some B.S. if they can get me the truck earlier than Rivian but how much B.S. before I cancel, I am not sure. I will not be surprised if dealer piles up the B.S. load even more to make sure I cancel to sell my truck with additional $15K mark up. Unlike you, last Ford I owned was over 3 decades ago and until Lightning, I never thought I would consider one. Hopefully I will be in less of a limbo both with Ford and Rivian in the next month or two.

My dad has driven F-Series trucks his entire life. He would not buy a Lightning at this point, due to the range hit that towing will bring. It would take him twice as long to get from their place here in Washington to their winter refuge in Arizona. But their “around town” car is a Ford Edge, which never goes more than 100 miles at a time. He seems more likely to go for something like an R1S than a Lightning for that purpose. Battery tech is going to have to come a long way before it can handle this…

My dealer told me the Jan 20th date for order banks, and also told me that they have no control (or idea) when I'd be called in to make an order, Ford will be handling that, they had no pricing info, options list, etc...

When I asked about delivery, they told me they had no freakin' idea, might be Spring, might be Summer, might be 2025... Ford hasn't told them a damn thing.

...but they have a really nice Hybrid F150 they can put me in today (for $80k... a mere $13k over MSRP)!

Yes you will wait. Keep on waiting. Wait it out. That’s all anyone has done thus far.
I'm not worried about the wait from Rivian.

Local Ford Dealer called me last night and said I would be able to configure my lightning preorder and get pricing mid January and that production would start next spring but it would probably be fall before they received my order. I preordered apx. 2-3 weeks after the opening so I will be surprised if I'm able to take delivery next year.

A reservation placed today for a Rivian will most likely take delivery at least a year, maybe two, before a reservation placed for a Lightning at the same time.
doubtful , but keep in mind by then the Rivian will already be a 7 year old design ??‍?

No... Ford has never claimed those numbers. If you have a source suggesting Ford did claim those production estimates, you would have shared it by now.

The 15k number dates back to a Reuters article citing an anonymous source. That's not very official or reliable.

Also, Ford can easily deliver 15k in 6 months. They produced more than 15k mach-e vehicles during the first 6 months, so there is no reason to think they can't do it with the Lightning. I was able to get my Mach e within 6 months of r first delivery despite not ordering until the same month deliveries started. Ford was able to ramp up to 5000k vehicles produced per month almost immediately.

That's the difference between the production capabilities of a start up vs legacy auto maker.

exactly this

I was not worried about my wait for my R1T until today’s financials.

I was hoping for delivery (3/21/22 pre order) by mid to late 2023 but I am thinking more like mid 2024.
