I installed the EveryAMP OBD2 USB adapter to power two magsafe/Qi wireless chargers. It seems mine can only power one port at a time. Either the USB A or the USB C port provides power, but not both at the same time. Whenever I plug in a second cable, the adapter becomes inactive and does not supply power.

Can anyone confirm both ports can be plugged into and power two devices at the same time? So far, I am only testing two wireless chargers. TIA.

Hmmm...Mine arrived last week and I haven't had a chance to install it yet or test it, but I will tomorrow and will let you know if it will power two devices at once. I hope it does, but if it doesn't I'm still thrilled because it gives me the extra power port in the front that disappeared before we picked up our R1S in August '23.

I did a few quick tests to see if I can recreate this. I was able to power two devices at the same time, but the OBD2 adapter has some limitations while doing it.

With both ports connected:
  1. The output voltage of both ports is limited to 5V.
  2. The total output is limited to about 25W (13.7W+11.5W pictured). As I increased the load on the USB-C port, the output on the USB-A port would correspondingly decrease.
  3. When I increased the USB-C port to 3.6A, the OBD2 adapter shut down both ports, but no device should ever ask for more than 3A at 5V, so that's to be expected.
  4. I could connect one of our Qi2 chargers to the USB-C port along with a low-power device on the USB-A port and both worked, but when I connected two of our Qi2 chargers to the A and C ports at the same time, both ports just cycled on and off.
We'll update our product listings to make it clear that it is really intended to use one port at a time, at least with high-powered devices.

@EveryAmp, any issues with leakage current from the OBD adapter and/or Qi charger draining the 12V battery quickly when sitting for long periods of time? I would expect it to be very negligible and I'm probably being paranoid but with all the 12V issues I figured I'd ask.

We haven't seen any issues related to leakage or vampire loads and I've had mine set up for probably 6 months now. Also the 12v is maintained by the 400v pack with a DC to DC inverter.

I'm less worried about the 12V dying (unless I'm at very low SOC) especially since I have a gen2 and more thinking about the vampire drain. Do you know if the OBD port stays powered after the vehicle goes to sleep? If not, then this isn't even a concern.

OBD2 remains powered 24/7.
