Or maybe a motorized trailer jack that fits any trailer?

Now that is just amazing. They had me with the self propulsion capability, but it's ability to balance on the axle and literally segway over the a camp site is mind blowing. Pricing is the only real concern here, of course. An Airstream Caravel is $70K. I suspect this would add another $20-30K.

Hmm, given the quality of the builds of many of the RV's, I would be worried about the app developments in terms of security. Could somebody hack that app and drive that trailer right into that lake?

Interesting concept nonetheless.

Yeah my initial guess on price is going to be $120k or so.

The key point is that you don't lose EV range, it propels itself on the road with self contained 242hp and 80kw battery. Self parking is just a side benefit.

Maybe for the chassis. Have you seen what an airstream costs??

And all you have to do is buy a whole extra EV and glue it to the bottom of your airstream. Now you have two things to charge!

I can see how something like this would have some utility at the margins but I'd rather just have a bigger pack in the tow vehicle. This is duplicating a lot of overhead and complexity.

This Alko system seems more reasonable than the airstream setup.

This is really cool. I am worried what it might cost though. too much and you might as well get a big RV.

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense - we're probably overdue for a BiDi connector standard (if there isn't one already) for high voltage DC between trailers and tow vehicles, so you could have any mix of motors powered by the tow vehicle, batteries powering the tow vehicle, etc. In the meantime I'd be wary of something like the eStream, which feels like a pretty hacky solution.

The airstream concept is overkill to me, they basically put two complete EV drivetrains into a trailer.
