Hi guys. I'm sure this has been gone over 1,000 times in the non-EDV threads, but is there any word on any workarounds to getting outside navigation working on these things? The company I work for just landed seven of these units, and they will be deploying more of them throughout the nation at their other locations as well. Well, the problem I don't believe they thought through is that Rivian uses their own proprietary navigation service which essentially makes this giant LCD screen useless as our drivers use their personal phones to navigate via Google/Apple Maps. I see Amazon has integration with their Flex app/navigation. Obviously these drivers can navigate just as they do with our previous/still-existing fleet, navigate on their phone while supported by a phone mount - but that's such a negated waste not being able to use the giant LCD screen the vans are equipped with. There are other EDV's that do support third party navigation functionality (BrightDrop Zevo's for instance) which makes the Rivian commitment an interesting decision.
I'm just popping in here to see if anybody has any insider knowledge, or something of the sort so I can pass that info over to the company.
Thanks!
