I have a 2023 R1T, I'm wondering if Rivian will tell me if I'm on "the list" to get a replacement or not?

We picked up our R1S in August 2023 and two weeks ago Rivian reached out to tell us that they need to replace our 12V battery. We have a mobile service coming to the house in about 3 weeks. We didn't do anything to initiate it - I'm guessing they saw something in the telemetry data that they didn't like.

We're in NYC for a couple of days with Rosey in a garage...I just pray it doesn't get bricked while there! While inconvenient, it wouldn't be bad if it happened in our garage at home, but in a NYC parking garage it would be a bit of a hassle.

Duke, thanks for sharing the replacement process.

I suspect Rivian will replace failing 12 volt batteries as the need arises, rather than perform a recall on a list of VIN. Symptoms are an error message or the vehicle seems to be losing range if it's around two years old. Not all Rivians are affected. Rivian's 12 volt supplier over promised and under delivered. The good news is Rivian will take care of you and may even send a service truck to your home if local SC is jammed. Drive well.

I have a service appointment coming up in late January to address some brake noises and AC odor. The SC added the 12V battery replacement in the ticket. I never received any warning or calls from Rivian about the 12V before. Perhaps they’re proactively replacing some of them.
