When turning left from the rightmost lane of a dual left turn, the blink spot alert freaks out the entire turn because my blinker is on and I'm turning left and there is another car next to me doing the exact same thing. It's not an issue if I use the leftmost lane, but that's not always practical. The alerting is very distracting - has anyone else experienced this? Any tips to resolve it beyond turning off the blind spot monitor?

I travel through an intersection like this several times a week and use the soft blinker if traffic is moving when I approach the intersection. If I have to stop at the light I'll leave my blinker on until traffic starts moving then turn it off.

I also don't think signals are always warranted in this scenario because (at least in my instances) the turning lanes have their own traffic signal and other traffic is not moving when the turning lanes have a green. It can also be an ambiguous signal to the person in the lane next to you (are they just making the turn or do they want to move into my lane?). The ambiguity of the driver's intent in this scenario presents the same challenge for providing a software solution. I'm not sure how this could be refined further, but I love the blinker cam otherwise. Its worth this minor annoyance IMO.

The chime seems to be tied to steering angle. Once you are "In" the turn it'll stop, but leading up to the turn it doesn't seem to be very situationally aware. I'm hoping that as the autonomy system becomes more aware of things like traffic lights, turn lanes, etc, they will implement an awareness for things like turn lanes.

My current instructions to my wife have been to "use the left most turn lane and it won't freak out"

It's valid that it want's to warn me against changing lanes, but could use some more situational awareness for sure.

I mean.. the answer is pretty common sense. Either ignore it or turn off the signal once you are in the turn. The blind spot monitor is doing its job and it’s not really a “freakout” it’s a minor beep.

This is a nonissue

Seems more like a speed correlation to me.

This is true, there is a speed correlation as well. But next time you're at turn play with it. You'll notice that as soon as your steering wheel gets beyond a certain point, the sound turns off. I've played with it lots of times and there's a very specific threshold of steering degree angle where the blind spot quits making sound.

But yes, there is a speed trigger in addition

I have experienced this as well and I've always attributed it to the blind spot doing its thing...letting you know something is back there in your blind spot. I've also attributed this to the truck having an IQ of about 5 and not being able to tell it had parallel traffic turning next to it.
