Yup. Yellow or Red calipers are usually indicative of a higher performance or higher spec vehicle. Painting calipers is expensive.

The silver/black doesn’t really stick out to me. I think it’s more indicative of a base trim, which is actually appropriate in this case.

Glad people like this, though. It’s a nice subtle distinction. I personally prefer the extra pop of the yellow, but agree that mostly only Rivian geeks will notice or care.

Looks great. I have an R1T on order and have been invited to the shop and to configure. But the dual motor options are greyed out in the configurator. Im holding out on dual motor for pricing reasons. Anyone able to configure it yet? Any idea how long until I can at least configure it?
Not yet for me, really curious when people will be invited to configure dual motor variants. I'm on the list for a dual motor R1S.

Is there a list to get on? When I put my deposit down for the R1T it doesn’t give any option for specs. Got the email to configure a couple weeks after I placed the deposit

Got PPF and they debaged my S. When I saw the car I told them not to put back on. The S is loud enough IMO and lack of badges tones it down.

This badging is especially nice contrast for the compass yellow. Do we have any idea how the dual motor is going to price for the pre-price hike reservations?

Pre-prce hike reservation holders will not get an option to select dual motor... actually you can get a dual motor if you demand it but at current pricing. You basically loose the legacy pricing if you go with the dual motor so there is no point. My Guide confirmed that in writing. This is of course excluding quad motor max pack rez holders... because Rivian now decided that to get the max pack, you have to have the dual motor so they are offering a price concession for those. Which I believe was like $5k for standard and what $1500 for performance? something like that.

Are the calipers actually painted silver or is it the raw aluminum casting? Picture makes it look like raw casting with the front surface being machined smooth for the Rivian logo.

Simply looking at the caliper and badges will differentiate a Dual from a Quad Motor.

I can see a lot of Dual Motor owners swapping emblems and painting their calipers yellow.
