Amazing! I was going to test that myself, but now I don't have to!There has been some suggestion floating around that the performance unlock for dual motors only applies in sport mode. Looks like Rivian just cleared that up in an email to dual motor owners.

There are apps that can do this based on GPSCan anyone confirm with draggy or something similar? Iām in AZ and willing to do this if anyone has a 0-60 tracker that I can borrow!
I know but how accurate compared to the device? Draggy supposed to be pretty dang close compared to just an appā¦There are apps that can do this based on GPS![]()
Most phones have a refresh rate of 1 HZ on their GPS. Draggy is 10 HZ. (1 HZ = 1 time per second)There are apps that can do this based on GPS![]()
I think it means the DMP has more power across the board, from get-go.Wait wait, so those of who already have dual motor performance from the start get more power in AP mode? Or was it always a little more power than the dual motor non performance?
Also what was the footnote "1" referenced?
I had to re-read this... and was more confused the second time through!I donāt know how to say this but here is a comparison:
my 5.4 sec single motor long range model 3 feels way faster than the 4.5 sec R1Tā¦
Visualize a small 50-seater commuter plane at takeoff vs a super jumbo 400 seater Dreamliner take off. From inside both planes, the 50 seater takeoff is more āexcitingā - if I can say so - everything shakes and bumps. lot more noise - you get the thrill. The super jumbo gets up into air without any fanfare and faster - but it is āboringā. the quiet luxurious air-suspended Rivian feels slower even though faster than my M3.
A 0.5sec reduction (for $5000 - interesting numbers!!) - will still feel like the same super jumbo quiet experienceā¦.āboringā. On the other hand. the Tri or Quad could be quite a diff story
I do enjoy driving and have the resources... the confirmation that HP unlock is NOT limited to sport mode has me even closer to jumping off the fence - but I just can't see to press the button!Made the upgrade. Totally worth it for me personally. Itās not so much the extra speed, itās the handling in Sport Mode.
If you both like driving and have the resources, get it. But the regular dual motor is great and if you donāt enjoy driving that much or you canāt imagine the handling being a benefit, skip it.
0-30 times I think are really what gives you that pushed back into your seat acceleration. Sport mode on a DMP does improve there quite a bit, but I think it's just the mass of the truck. My Mach E GT still felt faster of the line (and coincidently what caused my passengers motion sickness, leading to my trade).I donāt know how to say this but here is a comparison:
