This is in the UK but if you have a Tesla, you might want to double check your warranty to be safe.

Basically, after driving on wet roads, their Model Y died. Tesla claimed the battery was damaged due to water ingress and voided the warranty on it. They are requiring the owner to pay about $20K for a new battery.

BTW, looking at Rivian’s warranty coverage, I don’t see any water intrusion exceptions that are specific to the battery beyond driving through SALT water.

Also, the R1T has a max water fording height of 43.1 inches. The R1S goes to 43.2 inches. These are with the suspension at max height.

Take that Tesla.

This is just media FUD about EVs.
In this case there was DAMAGE to the battery pack which caused the flooding.
Lots of Teslas have been driven through lots of deep water with no flooding of the pack.
This isn't the first story like this. Tesla is just shitty when it comes to their warranties, I don't see this as EV hate at all just Tesla assumes if somehow water got in the motors or battery it was neglect and don't cover it.

For example from 2021 or is Inside EVs also producing media FUD about EVs 🤔

Comes down to did the driver/owner cause the damage (or hit something on the road). Or was there a manufacturing defect causing it to break. To be fair, Tesla doesn’t have the best reputation. Also, to be fair, I’ve seen a lot of drivers do a lot of stupid stuff.
