I have tried to get the Samsung 870 EVO to work with the Drive Cam and no success.

During the setup steps, I start the process, plug in the hard drive and nothing...

The screen says "First, plug in your device"... it is plugged in... the truck just doesn't recognize that it is plugged in.

My Mac recognizes the hard drive so I don't think the hard drive is the issue.

I use the USB ports for charging, so I am assuming the USB ports work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Make sure you format it on accordance with the manual. It will not recognize MacOS formatted drives.

I’m using a Samsung T7 so I think you just need to follow Rivian’s formatting instructions.

I use the Samsung T7 Shield 2 TB. When I first tried to connect it for some odd reason I had to plug in the opposite end of the usb-c cable that came with the drive. It then detected it and formatted it.

In theory, if the drive is not properly formatted the system should indicate it needs to be formatted.
