I've noticed this a few times now and a reset didn't fix it. When I'm at home, the R1S is set to have the doors presenting all the time. I've gone out to the garage in the dark to see that the door handle lights never go off (passenger side only). I saw someone had a similar issue on Reddit but it didn't seem like there was an answer? Is anyone else noticing this?

This is with a 1 month old Gen 2. I'm the meantime, I've started locking the vehicle at home as I don't like those lights being on all of the time, even if it's probably drawing very little power

I had the same thing happen on my 2025 R1T. I don’t know if it is a freak thing or a recurring issue. I just started locking the truck even though it is in the garage. That seems to avoid the issue. Hopefully there is a software fix coming.

I've only known camp mode to turn those lights off when the vehicle is unlocked, but we don't typically leave vehicles unlocked outside of that reason, even at home.

Gear guard is off at home already. To be clear, it's just the two passenger side handles that light up... so it is a bit strange.

Yep, exactly the same for me. Only the passenger door handles light up.

Mine do this on occasion as well in a gen1 R1T. I have do not lock at home and gear guard off. I turned off proximity locking as it was getting annoying have the car unlock anytime I went near the garage with my phone.
Sometimes I wonder if this goes unnoticed and that’s why the 12v goes dead.

Same here. Gen 2 R1S.
In garage, unlocked with gear guard off. Passenger side handles with lights on at random times. Nothing else about the car turns on or motors whirling. Just the gentle glow of two passenger side door handles.

They usually go off after some but I never stand there to time it. I think it is associated with one of our two paired phones getting too close and triggering something.

It's better than a few months ago when getting too close to the car at home would cause some pumps and other things to spin up. They fixed that a couple of software updates ago.

Interesting. I'll have to see if leaving the phone in the house does anything. It's certainly strange that it's only the passenger side lights that stay on though.

Model Y, R1S on order
Mine does it too. Gen 2 max. Passenger side only. I’ve just been locking while in the garage until wassym stops wasting his time on Halloween costumes for parked cars and fixes the software lol
