I would assume they would try to not use that 12th module on the R1T if at all possible. The truck floor could be the same with either battery that way, and obviously they wouldn't need as many cells per vehicle helping their margin and battery constraints. I'm going to guess they go with 11 (rough non-scientific calculation, 328/9*11=401).
But they only need it on dual motor now which is 350/9*11=427

I don't see an answer to what I perceive as a payload problem that would be created by simply adding another battery module or two.

They'll have to reduce weight elsewhere or one of the prime use cases for additional range in a pickup - towing; will still be compromised. Just in a different way than it is now.

Perhaps the new motors/configurations are the weight off-set?
