I love the concept of Gear Guard, but I hate Gary. The whole cartoonish thing going on with Rivian lately has gotten worse over time. First it was just a terrible depiction of Gary (what is he exactly anyway?) that looks like it was drawn by a 5-year-old with Crayons. And now we're going to soon see Gary emblems on the back of some Rivians. I don't think Gary is cute or fun or playful or whatever Rivian is trying to convey with the whole Gary monster idea. It just takes away from the high tech image of the vehicle/company. That said, I'm also not a fan of the new cartoonish looking UI that Rivian moved towards, even though Rivian is seemingly so proud of their new interface.

How often are you seeing Gary that he's a problem for you? I only see him briefly when my truck is waking up.

Rivian also isn't going for a high-tech image; they want to appear approachable and friendly and appear to actively be shying away from the brutalism we might see in other tech spaces.

Hate is very strong word for an opinion about a cartoonish mascot.... I am not a fan of the character but I can understand the concept. Create a warm and fuzzy creature that will soften the techie image of the EV truck and add a family friendly vibe. It's marketing. I agree the rendering of the character itself comes off as crude. Hopefully not the result of nepotism - drawn by the kid of some C-Suite exec. Adding it as a badge on the truck? Simple fix: just remove it

Yes, I've found Gary commonly ruins my driving experience, drives stock prices down, and have considered selling my truck because of him ?

My guess is the good to bad ratio on Gary is in excess of 10:1.
