Not sure if this topic came up before but... please chime it.

"It also increases the value of the rebate to up to $12,500, but that’s not for everyone.

The $7,500 incentive would stay, but it would be increased to $10,000 for EVs produced in the US and to $12,500 for EVs produced in the US by union workers.

The new proposal would also add a price limit on the new electric vehicle eligible for the incentive, which wasn’t the case before. The bill mentions a sticker price limit of $80,000, which is much higher than for similar EV incentives in other countries. For example, the price limit is $55,000 in Canada."

My configuration barely made the cut of $80k.

Also of considerable significance is whether Rivian has been able to hire and retain a sufficient number of front line assembly staff, especially during these times when just about every employer is struggling to maintain an adequate work force.

I've wondered the same thing, but had to do a double-take when I read the title to your thread. Now I wonder about the abnormal Rivian workers? Are they unionized?

And yes, I know you asked about "Normal", and not "normal". It just struck my funny bone.

To your question, I'm also curious about whether any of Rivian's employees are represented by the UAW or any other labor groups. Also, the proposed legislation will be of great interest as Congress battles overs the details and whether it passes or not.

Yet a few more things we'll find out more about over the next few months.

I wouldn't count on any of this becoming law.

I hope they go based on MSRP and not after upgrades/battery options.

I really wanted to get the R1S with max pack plus like $10,000 in tax benefits.

one can only dream/wish...

I'll be happy with the current $7500 tax credit. I'd be even happier with a rebate.
