Disappointed with the Halloween update for Gen 1

I do enjoy how half this thread is people complaining about the negativity on this forum.

I am so late to this party. As a former owner of a beater 2006 Ridgeline whose main features included four wheels, headlights, and an engine, I am grateful for the effort Rivian put into the themes. It is 100% an unnecessary luxury, but I love it. The BTHF costume totally feels like I'm at Universal Studios.

I think it’s great, adds some fun to the day! And it scares my 4 y/o a bit, which I can say is funny because I have 3 kids.

Plus… it’s by far the best vehicle I’ve driven. They don’t even need to do this.

I was underwhelmed. Costumes immediately disappear when vehicle is started and don’t automatically engage when stopped. While driving the only thing halloween are a few pumpkins and bats on the screen showing the vehicle modes. Never saw zombie pedestrians or headless horsemen, mostly because its mostly other cars. Yes I figured out how to do the owl hoot, but not because of any instructions from Rivian.

Don’t have to worry about these lacking Gen 1 updates if you refuse to update like myself. I’ve had nothing issues since June with updates and them breaking things. So now I’m just gonna stop and either wait or leave the truck as is. Nowhere does it say I’m required to update it and warranty doesn’t saying anything about it either.

Am I the only one who find the new update for Halloween a bit disappointing? Gen 1 owner here so I checked my expectations low knowing we can’t have the same features with Gen2 but c’mon, where’s the owl hoot when locking your vehicle? I truly miss the very first Halloween update.
Yes, you get the cool K.I.T.T. Mode with the green running lightbar and cool sound effects and dashboard display but that’s it? Should I invite strangers and neighbors to show off what’s happening on my monitor? No! I just want the owl hoot back and not taken away after.
It should be permanent and for us an option to use. Like ringtones, you keep it, and choose what you want to use.
It’s all cool but once you see them all, you would be over it.

Yeah, I'm definitely enjoying the owl hoot again. And the zombie pedestrians. But missing the pumpkins spilling out when you open the doors (haven't tried a reset yet to see if that might just be a glitch).

Observations:

1. Given amount of posts like this, from people with low participation, this site should change name to riviandisappoints.com or riviancomplaints.com
2. Too many folks don't pay attention to what is going on, don't follow threads, don't follow rivian specific channels and blogs like riviantrackr's, don't actively seek info and understand what is in each OTA, don't contribute positively to share info... They shoot from the hip, post impulsively to whine & complain, and miss by a country mile. This is selfish and of zero value to anyone else.
3. Results of the demographics poll has to be wrong. A group predominantly in their 40s shouldn't behave this way.
4. There are multiple threads/posts celebrating return of the owl.
   
5. Halloween easter eggs are bonus features. These are free bonuses. These are not advertised standard features. You got the vehicle you paid for. Rivian does not owe you Halloween or any other bonus features.
