Hey anybody who has a pre-order, or who looks at the Rivian website daily notice how tri motor has gone down from 380 to 371 miles?

I'll be honest less and less do I really believe these numbers and all I'm hoping for is 50 to 60 miles above what I'm getting in my quad motor.

Yes they did. Nobody is going to get the 371 either.

I still see 380 on the main page rivian.com/r1t

4* Actual vehicle capability will depend on selected options and trim. Torque, horsepower and acceleration timing estimates vary based on battery, tire, drive modes, vehicle load and weather. All range estimates are based on a configuration with 22” road wheels and tires. Official EPA values are noted — some range estimates are preliminary estimates based on the EPA test cycle and are not official EPA values. The EPA estimates range through a series of standardized lab tests that mimic real world conditions. Factors including tires, drive modes, HVAC settings and accessories can all have an impact on range.

Realistically the DM range of 420 is not believable either.

Gen 1 had a 410 miles of range for the 21s and 380 miles for the 22". Pretty hard to believe that the heat pump added >10% more range.

It's mostly in how range is calculated. Heat pumps will have a pretty big effect on the cold test cycle, bringing the average up even if the standard test numbers come out the same.

Part of why I wish EPA testing would include publishing a 3d plot of effective range at continuous speed vs ambient temperature.

Main web page when scrolling down to the bottom still says 380, but when you go into the configurator obviously it says 371, let's see if this number drops even lower?

Dark-FX makes good points, but also, Gen 2's range/aero 22s are probably much more efficient than Gen 1's 22s. Maybe as good or better than Gen 1 21s.

But the configurator is showing the same range for all of the 22" options so I'm just going to go with my original conclusion that it is wrong.

Yeah, if Rivian doesn't hit any of these advertised numbers it'll be a yet another blow to company.

I'm hoping they're close at least, but we'll see. Driving in "Conserve" seems like an emergency use case since it chews through the stock tires. Since going through two sets of tires in 18 months I just don't see myself using conserve mode routinely, nor wanting to if bucking up for the G².

It doesn’t have to. Use on highway and set to normal height vs auto.

2 wheel drive conserve mode, the heat and weight of the vehicle goes through the tires. I drive 30k highway miles a year and never using conserve mode has given me an additional 7k miles tire life.

"Conserve" is not likely to be a thing for the Tri-Motor nor the new Quad, just like the DM is today.
Just start up in all-purpose mode with the ride height set to auto and enjoy, your range will be great and you can stomp on the accelerator to pass at any time and not simply light up your front tires. If you want to futz with it further that's of course your prerogative.

As for EPA range vs. highway range, my PDMM-AT gets pretty close to EPA when cruising at 65MPH (the freeway limit in much of CA (ps, not saying *I* actually drive that way, but I've tried it and tracked the results in Electrafi)). Rivian's record has been pretty good in this regard, not sure why there would be angst out there for the new models. If you live somewhere where your freeways have 80MPH limits well...EPA's testing cycle does not consider you normal, sorry :p

Good to know... Illinois, I set it to 72mph for half my long drive then once on "the 90" it's 85mph or else you're getting run off the road 🤣

Honestly I've been doing way more back road driving which has been a big help too.

I've noticed that the new 22" aero wheels don't make any difference compared to the older 22" wheels as far as rated range in the configurator. I thought there would be a slight difference, but there's not from what I've seen.

I don't expect that is correct. If it was Rivian wouldn't advertised 'conserve' range in their configurator.
