Any chance to work this in for this run or a way to retrofit if not? I'd rather not drill a hole if I don't have to. I'll have my dog back there and this would be very handy. Also to see if anything tipped over.
I've got an order in, but agree that adding this feature would be very useful. I hope the modification can be made prior to the first fabrication run.

It shouldn't be that hard of an addition and would be a very functional upgrade. I'd be willing to wait a week or two to incorporate that. This will set it apart from a lot of other units like modifying a typical Maverick topper.

Man, it'll be impossible to make a proper looking camper for these trucks based on their design. This is the best looking one yet though.

Aesthetically, it's too tall toward the tailgate.

The current solution would be to cut out a 2 inch hole at the exact location and replace it with glass/acrylic. This is doable in the current production but will push the date back a little bit.

I'm comfortable with a bit of a delay. I think the modification will improve the product significantly! Think about the value of one of the five primary cameras on the R1T: without this mod, that entire camera is sidelined. Keeping it in-play is no small thing. Well worth accepting a delay.

Thank you for being flexible!

Put my order in, camera isn’t a blocker but would be nice. It looks like it has an LED brake light integrated. Were you able to get this functional?

I'll wait for the window and then I am definitely in for this round. It also allows Gary to keep an eye on our stuff if someone breaks into the back.

I can also watch my dog if I have to run into a store. I'll keep her in the cab on hot days but in the back would be best. She doesn't like cars that much so barfs a lot when riding but still wants to go with us. Much easier to hose out the back than the cab.

Shared this on a few social media platforms. Maybe you’ll get a few more orders.

I just cut out an opening manually on my cap and I think it works great. Please excuse my hand carving skill, there was not enough space for the router to sit flat for a clean cut. For water proofing, I got a 1/4" acrylic in place.

For the production version, It will be a 2" by 1" cutout in the middle with acrylic covering and glued with silicone. This size will be sufficient to have an unobstructed view for the cab camera.

Thank you for the suggestion and input.

Looks great! We all understand that prototypes are always a bit rough.

The piece of acrylic looks great. That large of an opening should provide an unobstructed view from the camera.

I will probably make some sort of cover to block off the cab brake light. I am pretty sure it there will be an annoying reflection for me at night. I may go to my PPF place and have them make a dark cover for it. With the regen braking the light is more likely to be going on more frequently than if I were to manually brake.

I am putting in my order shortly, contingent upon the rear camera access.

I'd suggest re-confirming the order and options before you make the final order. I am sort of on the fence on if I want to go with tinted windows or the inside cargo box.

Based on my other research, they should be able to do better on the express option. Air freight is typically $4-7 kilo. So they could air freight it to LAX and ground from there and maybe not that much more than the slow boat from China route.

Ok, just put my order. I want one with the camera opening. There wasn't a way to choose between sliding and solid windows for the side when ordering. Just confirm with me before the final order.

If you can use eyebolts for mounting, it would be much easier to secure cargo. Let us know if the rear tail light would still be operational. I was thinking about just wiring it into my trailer harness so I don't have to splice anything into the wiring. Would be pretty easy to do. I'll probably mount some rear lights on the back and also wire into the plug if it has a reverse light in it. I haven't checked so maybe someone else knows.

We should have critical mass to order now.

If you have a way to do the express shipping for less than $1000 for point to point, please let me know.

I was told that only DHL accepts this kind of parcel and the oversize charge is around $200 for express.
