I am definitely interested in going this route with the one I ordered. What I don’t quite understand about these photos: how do you fasten the cap to the Weistec inserts since it looks like the cap is cutout right there? Can you show a photo of it all hooked up?Just cannot wait to show this.
This will definitely work. The existing L bracket from the truck cap is big enough but I do wish that it is 1/2" wider to be on the safe side. You may need another 1/8" washer for the height difference but that is about it. Strength wise, I don't have a very solid analysis on whether this will fully support a 600lb load since we are changing from tensile stress to shear stress but my gut feeling tells me that it will be okay. Does anyone has experience on this? Really any opinion will be appreciated.
