Not really feasible. The reason for the seperate 12v is to allow the HV battery to be disconnected when not in use. In the scenario you described, the HV battery would always be connected, which is not the desired state for safety when the car is not in use. There's a reason litteraly nobody does what you are describing.

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but I'd like a factory cooler option accessible to the front passenger/driver. Console insert, BT speaker replacement, wherever, but enough to hold some leftovers or chill some drinks.

Cellular 5G and WiFI 6E/7, or user-upgradeable communication modules.

240V power output option in the bed.

Android Auto for apps like Teams, Plex, Waze, etc.

Off the top of my head: place the visual radar and proximity warnings on center screen, overlapping the the 360 view camera instead of the gauge cluster

For one - Better mobile phone integration for hands-free texting response. Second - would love to use a USB music storage through the entertainment system. I REALLY detest Apple Music, but it's all we got that will play (sorta) my already-owned music.

I have 3 "wants" currently, unfortunately they'll never happen.

1. Physical keys for access. I'll take just a touch sensor and non-bluetooth fob as a consolation.
2. Physical HVAC vent control. Touch screen vent control sucks at best.
3. Opening sunroof and rear window. Hate this giant glass panel that I can't open. MY Sierra would get amazing airflow with just the sunroof vented and the rear window open. REALLY REALLY miss that experience.

disagree. when the 12V is failing the vehicle could switch to HV12v, Yes this is new hardware element but not rocket sci. Warning to repair 12v would be displayed.

Disagree all you want, but it isn't going to happen the way you describe, and determining the health of the 12v battery is not a trivial task to get right. None of the 12v battery monitors on the market are accurate enough at battery health assessment to be used in this manner.

Today I learned that the issue for which I've been waiting for over a month for a service center appointment is affectionately referred to as the "low speed tock issue" on here. I described it in my service ticket as "clicking or knocking noise when vehicle starts to roll or slows down".

I probably waited over a month to put in a ticket and now been waiting over a month for an appointment and it's gotten progressively more pronounced and more frequent over a couple of months. Please tell me there's a fix for this.

Before the tock issue, my #1 complaint about Rivian was the wind noise at higher speeds.

Fix the suspension/driveline issues that destroy the ownership experience. I'm 0 for 2.

Some of this is just getting nit picky on a very well thought out vehicle, but there's always room for improvement

Software
- Real-time weather. Both current, and a forecast for a given area.
- Download playlists from in vehicle apps to external hard drive. Bluetooth via a phone shouldn't be the only way to pay offline music. The formatted dashcam drive already creates a directory for music for ffs. Let's go!
- Off-road mode main cluster optimization, similar to what was shown early Gen 1 demo/R3X with the front camera as a dynamic background overlayed with heading/trail map on the left etc. User customized.
- Camp mode night mode option. Same as night vision skin shown on R2/R3
- Option to turn off instrument cluster while only the centre/rear display stay on. Watching YouTube etc in a dark setting is cool, but having the drivers screen on can be distracting, especially when the brightness between the two isn't synced to the movie brightness controls.
-Bespoke drivers screen skin depending on current drive mode, along with a default option to keep the standard skin throughout for those that don't want it.
- Rear screen video playback (confirmed to be in testing by Wassym along with the ability to play while driving ((rear only)) ) good for young kids on a long trip.
- Responsiveness. Enough said

Hardware
- Half Shafts long term durability needs to be addressed. While I've only had one half shaft replaced, the tightness of the driveline components can make or break the ownership experience. While the Origin (Bosch) motors are phased out, they still encompass a fleet of roughly 40-50k vehicles. Please Rivian/part supplier make this component more robust. The tock/play is embarrassing.
- Rear Dampers same as the above. Hopefully the newer Gen 2 dampers take long term reliability into account.

Interior
- GRAB HANDLES both A-Pillar, and B. How am I supposed to get my R1T into a cool position off road for a quick photo if I have to grab the steering wheel and slither my way back inside. Similarly for anyone mobility compromised, it makes getting in and out, especially in the rear of the R1T, very awkward.
- 2-3 inches more rear legroom would be ideal for adults and car seats on those longer trips. Make the entire trucks length longer by the same amount as not to compromise bed space/gear tunnel volume. This one as a whole is unlikely as it requires a substantial redesign, but it would be nice. Of note, the R1T still feels palatial compared to sitting in the back of a Tacoma of any year.

Exterior
- A spring loaded tailgate that can be lifted easier. The damping on the way down is perfect, but lifting it back into the closed position, especially for my wife, can be awkward/difficult to fully close.
- Truck bed seams can be an absolute pain to clean out sometimes, especially if your tarp has a tear in it while hauling some 1/2" clear gravel. I know given the design of the bed and it's 5 pieces all overlapping to form it makes this a bit challenging, especially due to the bed storage compartment door, but there has to be a way to tighten the gaps?
