Haven't read all 14 pages of posts so apologies if this has already been suggested.

For R1S, I'd like to be able to long press the liftgate button to be able to close and lock the vehicle in one step. Not necessary when I'm using PaaK but, when I'm doing outdoorsy things and just carrying key card or wrist band, it would be nice to be able to close and lock the vehicle after unloading the dog at the rear without having to walk back around to the driver's door to lock the vehicle before walking away. I would actually prefer a proximity sensor in the liftgate but that's a hardware change that won't be made on existing vehicles (and would increase cost if added to new vehicles). The long press could be implemented on existing cars with just a software update.

Text message integration. Just read my dang texts and let me reply using my voice! This feature has been available through legacy automakers for ages... I'm not sure what the hold up is here.

I mean-- I can use my phone to "start" the vehicle, automatically unlock the doors, cast Hulu to the main screen, turn on the HVAC remotely... but no reading/replying to text message?

After a month of owning an R1S, here are the things that need improvement.
#1 - Carplay ... the Apple Music app is complete trash. It will play a few songs, then give a No Internet message, and I have to switch to using Apple Music through a bluetooth connection. Unacceptable. Fix this.
#2 - 3rd row seat access. Abysmal. Pushing the seats back should not be a two stage process. Even crappy American companies like Stellantis have figured out how to do this better. I'd prefer 2nd row captains chairs, instead of the bench, but they should fix stops on the rear seats, so that they go back into the proper position.
#3 - Rear wheel steering ... this thing is hard to park in underground parkades; rear wheel steering would improve this immensely
#4 - option for leasing in Canada. How hard is this? Seriously. With the latest price increase, coupled with a tanking North American economy, and malaise towards buying things made in America, Rivian is going to have a real difficult time selling their vehicles here. They've been here for several years ... they should've figured this out by now.

That's pretty much it for me - I love how smooth the acceleration and deceleration is. It looks awesome on the outside, and the interior is a very nice place to be in.

Really? The S is quite nimble and pretty easy to park, granted some parkades are tight as F... in Metro Vancouver and surrounding areas, but if I can park my R1T in them fairly easily then there shouldn't be an issue.

I'm coming from a BMW X3 mind you, so I'm getting used to maneuvering the larger vehicle. That said, I found my buddy's Hummer EV easier to maneuver to in tight spots (aka - parkades) ... so yes, the rear wheel steer would be a welcome upgrade, though I totally appreciate that it would add further complexity and cost.

Did you work as as a parking attendant in your younger days? You're may be an expert parker but others certainly are not. I want rear wheel steering, especially for my R1T.

Haha, no.

I think being forced to "thread the needle" even with my comparatively nimble Xterra for years in Vancouver parking has just made me better through years of pain.

My coworker with his Ram 1500 land yacht however treats his truck like a smart car. I dunno how the hell he gets his truck into the spaces he does.

Hi fellow Rivian owners,

I’m curious what one thing you would ask Rivian to change/improve to make you happier?

And, I mean related to your Rivian experiences, not just with your life in general. ;)

Mine is better quality control. It doesn’t matter if it’s at the factory or the service center, but it needs to be done before delivery!

Rivian markets these as "adventure" vehicle built to include off-road capabilities. Rivian needs to develop an in house option for running boards and sliders that once installed will not require customers to remove them (or pay upwards of $400 to have them removed) in order to have the vehicles lifted for service at their service centers.

My vent. Ability to proactively determine 12V health and self replace. Not even asking for a 12V from the HV battery emulating an ICE alternator as they should have designed to begin with!
