Crossbars officially confirmed to be locking!

This was a worry of mine, so I'm excited to see the crossbars are locking! I wonder what sort of key this is. With the Yakima partnership, it would be really cool if it's using their Same Key System (SKS): https://yakima.com/products/sks-lock-cores. From this one picture, it does look like it's possible (looks like my Yakima ski rack keyhole anyways).

I wonder if we'll be able to buy these directly from Yakima (non Rivian branded of course) for a lower price. Although I agree, current pricing doesn't seem that bad.

You are correct. I was just pointing out that the SKS may be in play for the crossbars since it is utilized on other Rivian-branded accessories.

Do we know if Yakima is actually making the crossbars? Or are they just designed to easily accept Yakima accessories?

I hope we're able to buy them aftermarket. I want a set for both rooftop and bedtop.

I’ll only get them if my skis won’t fit in the bed with the tailgate up and tonneau closed. So I’ll wait until I get the truck and then order them separately or go aftermarket.

I'm unsure about the crossbars but the accessories seem standard Yakima and are available there for the same price as from Rivian.
