Tesla is getting there with more manufacturers having access. I experienced a broken pin and a charging handle/cord laying on the ground in the rain at different Tesla locations this week. I am also cleaning the pins on all Tesla chargers now as a preventative measure to try and reduce the repeated derating I am seeing.
What do you do to clean the pins?

Very limited rollout in 3 states in the beginning

Two stores are leading the rollout: Clermont, Florida, and Denver, Colorado, will each get six charging stations. Three California locations will follow, with Loomis getting 14 chargers and Pleasanton and Sacramento each adding 10.
I think this story is working off some out of date info. The newest Costco in Sacramento already has the co-branded EA chargers and has had them for weeks, if not since that store’s opening a few months ago. I thought the ones at the Loomis Costco also already had the co-branding when I was last there two weeks ago. As for pricing, both of those had okay pricing when I was there but nothing bargain basement or free.

Maybe it'll speed up their upgrade to V4 with longer cables. /s

I avoid EA like the plague and use Tesla only. Tesla is becoming a mess too with all the new manufacturers using them and taking up extra spots. EA is a complete rip off price wise too which is another reason to avoid it.
Curious where you see EA more than Tesla? In my travels I find the discount on EA with the $7 monthly membership and the discount with Tesla with the 12.99 monthly membership are pretty close.

To be fair, my last big trip was in August and I have not started looking at charger prices for my upcoming March trip so really curious what you have seen.

For the Ridgefield, WA one they definitely thought of this, the spots were right next to the gas station. But that was a brand new warehouse, retrofitting might be more limiting in where they can place them.
At the 3 Colorado Costcos I visit in the Denver area there are parking spots near the gas station that would be perfect for chargers.

Electrify America stalls are always clogged up with people getting their free 30 minute charge. The Costco ones are even worse. People are pretty motivated by free charging and $1.50 hotdogs.

EA is such a painful experience for so many reasons.
I have used EA chargers in Colorado and never had a problem with having to wait and they have always worked perfectly. And I use them a lot.

What was the pricing? The non-EA one in WA I went to was $0.29/kwh, but only peaked at 105kW. Decent deal if you need dcfc and plan on shopping but I'd rather pay the higher EA price for faster charging on a real roadtrip.

I’d rather pay more to EA than give musk-rat a dime unless absolutely necessary.

In California the EA chargers are very busy, mostly because of all of the free charges the car companies are subsidizing. Once I get east of CA EA seems less crowded, the larger cities in TX I’ve seen full EA stations as well.

That would make sense. My kinda comparing CO and CA is admittedly absurd.

I wonder if they're planning to use the same Costco location in Sacramento as the REI near downtown, since there's already a RAN at the REI. I've never had to wait for a charger there, but there are a lot more Rivians on the road in the 6 months since I last used it.

Nope. I saw somewhere that it will be at the Natomas Costco on Commerce Way in Sacto.

Great, in all the states that already have plenty of chargers. Bring that to New Mexico!
