The Janka mount looks a little Janky. It has a fairly long lever arm where it is more likely to rock and put more load on the VHB tape. Also the longer effective arm makes for more vibration typically. It makes me appreciate the Chun mount even more. I hope the Janka works well for you.

Yes - Discord is a royal PITA. It almost kept me from buying the Chun mount but glad I persevered..

It uses super strong magnets to keep it stable, and the arrangement is very impressive. No play or movement in any direction. The Chun mount seemed too light and shaky in the videos.

Lukas sent an email earlier that they will be able to enable longitudinal control with an add on box. It should be available in about a month. I of course signed up for one. That will give Comma.AI control over the speed.

Hasta la vista Driver+!

Could you please share the email?
I got the harness from him but I didn't get any email to sign up for the add-on box.

I’ve been waiting since March 6th to order this mount. That’s when I was put on the list. If you want this, prepare to wait.

Edit - to be more clear, I’ve been waiting for the Chun mount.

I'd also love to sign up for this and have the harness from him.

Super news! If OpenPilot has BOTH lateral and longitudinal control, will it now (in theory) be able to follow a designated route??? If so (once again in theory) could we use the navigation screen to set up a route and have OP actually drive it???

Theoretically it could follow a route. It would be more likely on the highway than the city.

To get longitudinal control, it will be with SunnyPilot. You can got try it out now. Remember this is an EXPERIMENTAL branch so use it at your own risk. You can adjust the speed through the device itself, not the hardware buttons (yet).

The person developing is Lukas Loetkolben, who designed the harness that OpenPilot adopted.

This was the piece we were all waiting for.

Any idea on cost for the add-on and how to order?

Really not that bad once you get used to it, but def has a learning curve and can be really frustrating at first
Oh yeah, I'm sure that THIS year is when it will all become easy to use. I've only been in tech/software for 35 years, maybe I could take a class. No, Discord is complete trash.

100% no. Because a car can never safely change a lane needed to follow a route using the blind spot monitoring system

once OP adds back routes it will do this but only with your supervision and approval of lane changes. It will never be FSD but this will get much closer.
