Hi, our R1S just got towed to the Chicago SC yesterday for a coolant leak. Anyone in the area recently have your R1 at the Chicago SC? Wondering what the backlog was like. I can’t seem to get this question answered by the actual SC.

the car has been there for two days and there is no evidence that they have even started to look at it.

I’ve actually avoided taking the R1 to Chicago so far because of the horror stories I’ve heard about their back log. It’s an hour away. Normal is 2 hours away and I prefer taking the R1 there.

For this current issue, Rivian insisted on Chicago since they were

I have been to Chicago SC atleast 5 times as I have both S and T. Honestly it is not bad, never had a major issue as yours and always got the vechicle back with in 2 to 3 days.
Your delay could be, SC waiting for parts.
Compared to other regions, i think Chicago SC is wayyy better and not too back logged.

Bay Area service appointments are about 3-4 months out at this point. You're lucky they got you in at all 😅

Dropped R1S for windshield repair Thursday morning at Chicago. They told me they’ll also be doing 12V battery replacement and check all wheel fasteners.

I learned they are backlogged with the Alignment as there’s one machine.

For my work order initial estimate was 2 days but at SC got pushed to 3 as they have to call specific team for windshield replacement.

From past experiences they are generally good with communication. However, it did seem like they were busier than usual and if majority of incoming cars are also getting same 12v + fasteners checks that may have impact on backlog due to manpower required for this added tasks.

I went in to get the air compressor outlet fixed, my appointment was one week after my request and they did it while I waited there.

Once they start working on your car, it’s not that bad. The key question is how long your car will sit there before anyone touches it.

I scheduled an appointment right before thanksgiving and the earliest availability was end of January.

Then you drop your vehicle off right on time for your appointment, and they don't actually put it on a lift for two weeks.

It’s been there a week. They did the diagnosis on Day 3. Now they’re waiting in a part to arrive.
