@SeaGeo I completely agree on the EG4! Since the R1 can only output 1500W continuous, having an AC-DC converter designed for up to 5000W is overkill, and at $500 it seems unnecessary. I tried a quick search for a charger closer to 1500W and just didn’t find quite the right unit —what did you go with? It sounds like you run both AC-DC converters through the same R1 into the DC inputs on your jackets? I did found a couple e-bike chargers that had the right spec but the manufacturer was unknown to me.

Two of these:

I killed a 1200w one accident (TL;DR, the Jackery requests more power from a single DC pin that it should), so I sized up. But it also gave me some confidence that they won't randomly blow up on me. I've also run them for a decent amount of time without any issues so far.

I tried to find a MeanWell switchable charger, but just couldn't find the combination of DC voltage and power output that I wanted.

I have been planning on doing a write-up, but have just been too lazy. So here's a summary of what I plan on doing next time the power goes out, and why I went with a Costco package from Jackery on black Friday:

-Got the Jackery 2000 plus with the one auxiliary battery as it can output 3kw continuous and 6kw surge. I don't currently need 240v, so I wasn't too worried about it. The "head unit" is small enough that I can shove it in the truck and take camping if I want, unlike the Anker, and it was a hell of a lot less expensive and eligible for the tax credit with the bundle.

-Run the 120v outlets in the truck and run an extension cord to a power strip (fancy!). Plug two of the switching power supplies (get correct voltage) into the power strip. Connect the appropriately sized wires to the appropriate solar inputs.

-Use the R1T to keep the Jackery charged up.

- Prosper.
