Hey all,

Just wanted to share the jack I bought for my R1T. It is branded from Cat and similar in design to the floor jack offered by Pro Eagle at a lower cost. Picked it up on Amazon for $449 + free shipping.

Picks the truck up fine, I just got my EV Sportline pucks and they worked great together.

Thanks for sharing. Do the wheels retract so it sits on its belly? How does it stay put otherwise?

No the wheels don't retract. I guess as long as you place the jack perpendicular to the truck it won't move. It is designed with a fully enclosed bottom so it can sit on it's belly for offroad situations.

Man I wouldn't want to lift that 90 pound jack into my gear tunnel. The hi-lift on my crawler is already a pain to lift. You need to be the first to build a spare tire, jack and gear rack for the bed of the truck. :oops:

Better to lift that into the gear tunnel than into the bed of most lifted offroad trucks. Nice setup

Being $150 less expensive than the Pro Eagle 3-ton Kratos model the Cat appears to be a great alternative. The Cat is made in China, the Kratos in Taiwan.

A USA assembled Hein-Werner 3-ton floor jack will set you back over $700 and it doesn’t have the large off road tires.

I've never used a floor jack on a trail, so I don't know what to expect for trail friendly jacks.

I've never used a floor jack on a trail, so I don't know what to expect for trail friendly jacks.
I haven't really thought about it much, but a rolling floor jack doesn't seem like the ideal jack for trail use where the vehicle might move/slip.

I can’t imagine it is, because of the pivot point the base of the jack actually rolls forward as you lift the vehicle. There could be several inches of travel as the arm lifts the vehicle.

Also, how does one get the truck onto jack stands when the pucks are the preferred access point and are occupied by the jack itself?

^ they would have to go under some beefy suspension points just like they do on other cars that use pucks. I do that on my i3 and Tesla M3.
