I came across this on my feed, and I hadn't seen it shared yet.

Always good to see someone getting the Rivian dirty, and I liked his take.
I thought I'd share.

Bonus comment on the video:
"We have 100,000 miles on our R1S and it's been a BEAST! The only maintenance is tires and windshield wipers so far. "

See, not everyone's Rivian is broken! lol

It was good. Pretty much every off road reviewer makes the same mistake running it in highest for no reason where there's no droop or articulation left and the ride is harsh. Just reserve that for extracting or clearing temporary obstacles.

I took mine through some very think mud and it handled it with ease.
The only issue was washing the mud from all the vents and holes the car has all over it.

With proper settings and air down to 34, my R1T Tri with 22 four season tires does fine. But then I enter challenging surfaces with some momentum and proper settings. The reviewer did not seem very experienced. Someone off camera reminded him about settings for off-road EV driving. My trusty Tri has been wonderful, but I also understand that discretion is often more important than valor. If the road becomes extremely sketchy I'll turn around and live to adventure another day without damaging my beautiful Rivian.

Thank you for this. I towed my Jeep Wrangler (project yj) and went off roading with the Jeep first then took my tri rivian on the sand. Both were awesome. I wanted to try the trails with the rivian but was slightly scared since I just got it December 2024 (Gen 2).

After the fact I found out mine had beefier control arm rods and such so I should have gone out on the trails and mud. Opportunity missed but now I know how capable the R1T Gen 2 is

Don't worry, I know you know the feeling since you live it everyday. It's ok boomer, dementia probably sucks.

And stop quoting me in other threads. It's creepy and now your giving off stalker vibes

I'm confused.... What?
Noticed when he was turning his steering wheel - the under back side has the rubberized(?) peeling off

Ahhh got it. I apologize, I've never heard that before and I missed it in the video.

I like at 9:45 when he figures out he doesn't have the settings correct for what he's tryna do. 😄
