Can Rivian fix a windshield?

Is it possible to fix a Rivian windshield that has been chipped, or is the current recommendation to just replace it?

Go to an auto part store and get a windshield repair kit immediately before it spreads.

Any windshield shop can treat it and try to stop it from getting bigger. There are store brought products that do that same but I’ve never tried any of them.

I have Safelite scheduled for tomorrow morning. Hope they can patch it up. We will see. Also curious how a rainstorm will affect it.

From my experience any significant change in temperature can make it expand a bunch in a matter of hours. As long as you’re leaving it somewhere with a steady temp overnight they should be able to help.

Same thing happened to me 3 days ago. First car I ever own to have this happen doing 55 mph. I feel like their windshields are not great. I have had rock hit going 155+mph and didn’t affect that car…anyways use code web15sl for $15 off your repair. Cost me $120 out the door.

My experience has been if you use a quality repair kit that forces the epoxy into the damaged area fully then the crack won’t spread.

If they patch it up, it can see thru extreme weather easily. I had one patched up by a local glass shop and two winters, two extreme summers later, I have had no issues.

If Safelite can’t fix it, the first Rivian appointment is December 15. I took it, just in case.
