Most of the comments I've seen from environmental groups realize that something has to be done there - Climate change and agricultural chemicals were a big reason the sea became what it is now, with salty toxic dust that causes the people who still live nearby numerous health problems. The hope is that projects like those described in the original article can help fund some additional restoration efforts for the area.I doubt they will since the environmental lobby there usually stops development.
