I know this is probably an uneducated question, but can an AT tire be placed on the 22" eventually without issues?

There are very few 22" AT tire options and probably none that will fit the Rivian. It's possible something exists but doubtful.

If you could find an AT 275/55R22 tire, it would be close to the 275/60R20 diameter and width.

I just checked tirerack and they don’t offer any AT tires in 275/xxR22. AT tires generally will have higher sidewall than all season touring tires, and you just can’t get that on a 22” rim.

I have an R1S LE on order... I believe the silver option you posted above is for the R1T. If you go to the R1S configurator the 20" wheels appear to be the same with the exception of the color... as far as I can tell from the website. I believe the difference is in the R1T and R1s, that is why people keep saying they are or aren't the same style, depends on which Rivian you are looking at.
You are correct. I only looked at the R1T where the 20” silver wheel is different than for the R1S. 20” black are the same for both R1T and R1S.
