TLDR: it's a Rivian.

The California Highway Patrol reports the Dignitary Protection Section recently purchased two Rivians.

Up until now, the governor's vehicle had been a Chevy Suburban.

The Rivian purchase comes after Musk put a quarter of a billion dollars into President Trump's campaign and spearheaded DOGE federal cuts.

No dog in this fight, but I mean, if I was a CA taxpayer, I'd be glad to know this person cares about their carbon footprint (and everything that goes along with that: reduced dependence on oil, emissions, etc.).

Everyone is free to feel different, but personally I advocate for cleaner and more efficient vehicles at my own local city council.
