I checked and had this set to Always as well and see what you see. However, when I closed my app, I get this message. Seems very contradictory.

I just double-checked and the Apple settings are lying. If the app isn’t open, the PAAK does not work, which is what I suspected.

I've noticed the nav volume change on the latest update too. I think it happened because I was adjusting the volume of my media while the nav would have been speaking. The nav then "took focus" and suddenly the scroll wheel was adjusting nav volume instead of media volume.

Just some things I've noticed:
  • Bluetooth volume control on the steering wheel can be incredibly laggy, sometimes it takes ~5 seconds or so to catch up.
  • I can't seem to keep nav volume at zero, it sporadically returns to speak directions.
  • I can't figure out how to keep the charging animation on, even when unlocked at home.
My nav put me into a state five states away from where I was. Also gave me auto drive capability that does not work since this is a gen 1. Had to do a reset. Btw update worked flawlessly for three days and then went south.

I have a bug where I couldn't charge using my schedule at home because the vehicle wasn't registering the GPS position as being at "home". I gave it a hard reset and that didn't fix it. I had to go into the charging menu and turn my schedule off. Then go into the navigation menu and delete my 'home' saved address. I then added my home address again by manually typing it in and then re-enabled my charging schedule. voila, it works now.

For some reason, my app still shows my vehicle parked about 3 miles down the street and is unable to update; at least my charging schedule works for now. I will have to call tech support though to see about fixing the app.

Currently the app is saying my vehicle has a very poor connection and is not connected to wifi. My vehicle is parked in the garage with full bars on Wifi so there is a definite disconnect between the app GPS / connectivity status and the actual vehicle which would explain why my app still thinks my vehicle is parked far away.

I have found that the tilt mirrors and seat return from roomy exit stopped working after it sleeps.

I have of course done a soft reset and a hard reset, neither fixed it.

Each morning I get in and the seat does not return from room exit position. I manually tell it to return and it does so. I drive a short trip and it doesn't drop the seat to roomy exit when I get out. It will on subsequent trips that day so it must somehow reset. Same with the tilt mirrors. First thing in the morning, it doesn't work. Later in the day it will.
I have noticed the same issues.

I had that too but after a soft reset, it fixed itself.
I too have that going on, but I’ve had to do a soft reset several times over a week or so as the nav maps often go away and I get the “using offline maps” message.

Seconded on Apple Music stability issues returning. Pauses all the time now. Atmos vs non Atmos volume issues as well.

Remind me why everyone loves that Wassym guy again? After two years with our R1S, every. damn. update. has some new or resurfaced problem.

Apple Music is back to consistent stability issues
Yup, I’ve seen it crash multiple times since the update.

I haven’t used this in quite some time, but I’m a Gen 1 owner and setting this option to ‘always’ did allow me to use PAAK without opening the app, I just tested it. I only stopped using this because my bedroom is close to the vehicle and it use to unlock the doors. Setting ‘always’ was a little finicky though. The truck was sleeping and would not wake until I opened the app. I closed the app when I got in and the truck started without a problem. When I walked away it locked and then I tried approaching again, this time it unlocked the doors without opening the app.

With regard to the pop-up message that occurs when you close the app, Rivian needs to implement a check that if the always option is set not to display that message.

Yes, I've been seeing this with the new update. I'm expecting the volume knob to be changing the media volume but the nav snuck in and gets adjusted. It's not a good change.
