Bridgestone has launched a new all-terrain Dueler tire, a successor to the Dueler A/T Revo 3. The new tire, called the Dueler A/T Ascent, is specifically designed for modern luxury vehicles and 4x4 trucks and SUVs.

According to Bridgestone, the new Dueler has a fully redesigned tread pattern. It's got a square shoulder design with stone rejectors, widened tread slots, and notches tuned to reduce road noise and tearing.

The new Dueler is also Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) rated, certifying that it has completed acceleration testing in medium-packed snow and achieved at least 110 percent of the traction of an all-season reference tire. Along with the 3PMSF rating, the new tire is Bridgestone's first all-terrain tire built with the brand's environmentally focused Enliten technology, which uses recycled materials to lower each tire's environmental impact.

Bridgestone engineer Jeremy Norwood described the mission of the new tire as being "to develop a luxury truck tire that could tackle the trails on the weekends without sacrificing the comfort of the daily commute," said Bridgestone engineer Jeremy Norwood.

The new Dueler is on sale now, with sizes available in 35 fitments. Wheel sizes are focused on trucks and SUVs and come in diameters ranging from 17 to 22 inches. The new all-terrain comes with a 60,000-mile limited warranty. Pricing starts around $250 and varies based on size.

I wonder how performance compares with the Trail Terrain, which was recently released for 22''. I've been looking at the Trail Terrain because it's available from Costco and I'm lazy about looking for a new tire place (no Discount Tire in the Northeast).

I had the Revo 3's on my 2012 Laramie 4x4. I also put a set on my R1T and have 6500 +/- miles on them. Tires work well on both vehicles. If this new model/style is any better than the Revo 3 it will be a good choice.

Good news and bad news

Good news: Looks light - says 53lbs for 275/65R20
Bad News: Looks expensive (then again, what tires aren't).

Annoying news: Bridgestone seems to only list 22" wheel for Rivian.

275/65/20 officially available at Costco. I pulled the trigger and ordered them to replace the Perelli’s (27k miles) on my stock AT wheels. I am hoping to have them installed late next week.

I think I have wasted way too many hours researching tires over the past 4 months trying to figure out the best option for 20 inch wheels. My final candidates were the Bridgestone Dueler Ascent, Nitto Recon Grapplers, wait for the new Terra Grapplers, Nokian nAT, or size down to the new OEM Goodyear Territory AT.

Wish me luck! I will try to update once they are installed.

I’m in the same boat. Not sure I will make it to December for the release of the Grappler G3. I wish the Ascent weren’t LT rated. Excited to hear what you think. Comfort and mileage are top on my list.

Make sure you look up the inflation guide for the LT rated version. It will require higher pressures than stock.

Any recommendations on tire pressure? I could not find a specific guide, but was going to start with 55 psi to start.

Might not apply, but Michelin suggested 65psi for their E load (119S) 275/50/22 Defender MS2 119S tire. Prob best to ask the tire dealer or manufacturer for the official answer. 50psi for an E load tire won't carry as much weight as a 116H at 50psi.

55 is good, consensus is low 50s to high 50s…once at 65 most drivers don’t like the ride (too stiff/rough, feel every bump). Load is key, if fully loaded then it should be closer to 60 psi. If empty then 50 should be fine.

finding the right balance between MPK and comfort is tricky, can also do a chalk test to check.

I wanted to share my experience after installing new tires on my R1T just three days ago. So far, my initial impressions are quite promising, though I'm still in the process of breaking them in.

Ride Quality & Noise:
The ride quality has been excellent, and I'm pleased to report that the noise level has significantly improved. The ride feels firmer than before, but in a positive way that enhances the driving experience.

Tire Pressure Experimentation:
I've been experimenting with different PSI levels. I started at 55 PSI, bumped it up to 63, and now have it set at 57 PSI, which seems to be the sweet spot for a balanced performance.

Efficiency:
It's still too early to provide a definitive take on efficiency, but I've logged about 300 miles so far with an average of 2.03 miles per kilowatt-hour. For comparison, my lifetime average with the Pirellis was 1.99. My driving has been roughly 75% in All-Purpose mode and 25% in Conserve mode.

I've included some photos showing the tires at standard height. I'll make sure to update everyone once I hit the 1,000-mile mark.

Overall, everything is looking very positive, and I'm excited to see how these tires perform as they continue to break in!

Any updates on your thoughts for these tires after having them for a few more days?

How is the around town driving comfort? Do you feel it's more rigid since it's an LT tire or is it a smoother ride?
