Based on that and what we've seen from polls here, I think about 80% LE and 60/40 R1T/R1S are good guesstimates. I suspect we haven't had a ton of cancellations. Maybe 10%? Could easily be at about 40k preorders right now.

24k R1T - 19.2k LE
16k R1S -12.8kLE

32,000 to build in 2021 assuming having all the LEs wrapped before January is the idea. I assume they'll be building production vehicles well before June even if they don't ship before then.

Plus 10,000 Amazon vans in 2021.

It wouldn't surprise me if they are building production platforms now, with bodies and interiors coming later, but obviously I don't know anything about how their lines are set up.

This does not seem likely. They would then have to store a bunch of partially assembled vehicles. Toyota has articles explaining that they can complete a vehicle in 18 hours on their assembly line. All the steps of building the vehicle take place in sequence from start to finish in a continuous sequence. If deliveries will start at the beginning of June, then it would be a good guess that the line begins running the last week in May.

I have a hard time believing they would produce 30,000 LEs in 2021. I am sure Amazon has a big priority for initial production and they will deliver 10,000, most likely starting early in 2021, before any R1T or R1S deliveries. I think 7000 is a more likely number, about 1000/month, along with about 1000/month Amazon vans.

Of course I could be wrong, but this is a startup and I think they will go carefully at first.

Just to clarify, when I say production, I'm including Amazon vans.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you - the Amazon vans are going to start earlier in the year, and that is why I think they will roll directly from pre-production to production.

Regardless of whether we are talking vans or trucks and SUVs, I don't think they'll let their lines go dry.

So, Let's say there are 40K Pre-orders as your suggesting, and I just last week placed an order for an R1T with 400-mile battery...are you thinking I may actually take delivery in ~March 2022?

Really you are just going to have to wait. But since you want an answer I believe it will be April 3. 2022.

I'm a R1S in forest with ocean interior...seems pretty rare all things considered!

That being said, I'd give up my LE for a max pack R1S. But, if I cant, I'll just take a 135 kW earlier.

I was all set with Rivian blue and black wheels but seeing the pre order configurator the two color option charges seems a bit ridiculous and would even delay Delivery. The LA silver and 22” wheels using the LE is basically a compromise for me but over the last couple days am accepting it.

I don't see a delay with Rivian Blue. Am I missing something. Yes the LA silver is nice and if I was going for the Explorer, the silver and 400+and the rest standard would be my choice. $77500.

I had to assume he was referring to delay if one waits for the black wheels not available for LE. We haven’t heard anything about vehicle colors causing delay.
