Bravo Rivian but now R1 is OLD.

Bravo on the vision Rivian! I hope you can pull it off.
Very impressive SPECs on R2, and R3s), but they essentially kill the R1 vehicles.

If your manufacturer isn't making you jealous of new features, then they suck. Rivian is a winner.

Rj responded yesterday that the upgraded microchips and sensing suite is coming to the R1 platform.

So R1 will have full hands free ramp to ramp as he put it.

As others have said R1 will most likely be changed to a bigger r2 so everything you saw and liked yesterday would most likely be moved to R1.

Things I doubt would make it are the front seats as R1 has enough room with 3rd and 2nd rows folded.
Also not sure if rear glass retracting is possible with current tailgate design.

So the question would be could existing R1 owners get the necessary upgrades. I was unaware that Tesla offered that until I read it in another thread. I would hope it is possible and will be offered to us as well.
