Thank you for sharing. What does this setup weigh? With the single axle I'm guessing it is pretty light. I have a Yamaha sx230 and trying to figure out whether or not to sell my Cummins.

I believe it's 3250 lbs dry with the trailer. Honestly I don't think weight is the issue, it's more a question of aerodynamics. I suspect if I could tightly cover the boat, efficiency would do better.

I got the boat all tucked up with a cover, and the efficiency appears to have gone up to about 1.5 mi/kWh at 60mph - meaning 25% increase in range. I haven't tested the other speeds yet.

I’ve got a 2017 Scout 251XS bay boat I’ve now towed around a little with the R1T.

Running at 70 mph I was getting .87 m/kWh, but at 60 mph more like 1 m/kWh. Tows like a dream, but surge brakes on a boat trailer mean you can’t adjust the gain on the trailer brakes.

Towing our (currently filthy) boat from a marina on Lake Washington today. It was night and day compared to my previous truck - Nissan Titan. Short ride, saw about 1.3mi/kWh. @Timo — here’s a Yamaha 242 LTD S FYI. I’ve never pulled anything with a diesel truck, but I can say we were incredibly impressed. Great for shorter distance towing.

It's not a boat, but it floats and I tow it twice a year.. This year was a little hairy. We were off the ramp due to water being so low and I was really happy to have the amazing 4wd capability of the R1t. It was tough with my old Titan..

Has anyone towed a boat near the R1T's capacity? I have a Grady White Freedom 275 that weighs up to 9,000 lbs (hull, accessories, full tanks, trailer). I use a Ram 2500 diesel to tow it now but I'm thinking of consolidating my X5 and Ram 2500 into a Rivian R1T.

(Anyone with an R1T in the Bay Area want to let me do a test tow in Alameda?)

How much tongue weight? If it stays under what the payload capacity is I think you'd be fine. Rivian recommends a WDH hitch over a certain weight, but that tends to be because you'd be overloading the hitch otherwise.

26’ four winns horizon. Love towing with this truck. It’s so effortless up hills and the back end feels much more stable than that of my ‘22 tahoe. The one pedal driving makes hitching so simple.

Towing a Jeanneau 24.5' (LOA) with surge brakes on a Karavan branded trailer. The boat + trailer is getting close to 5000lbs.

I'm not happy with the trailering -the ride is very jerky. I'm pretty sure the issue is the surge brakes. I don't have any experience with surge brakes, so perhaps this is normal?

I'm toying with the idea of getting a new trailer with EOH (electric-over-hydraulic) disc brakes. I've heard the old-timers worry about water/salt-water and EOH. Is this still a problem?
