My truck came with 22’s, and I wanted another set of wheels/tires that would work in snow and off road.

I chose these 20” wheels because of their +25mm offset, decent looks and attractive price.
I wanted the biggest, widest tires that would not rub too much. I almost got 295/60/20’s because they have the same diameter as the stock AT 275/65/20’s, but I wasn’t sure how much they might rub with the wheel poking out almost an inch more than stock. So I decided to try 285/60/20’s, which are about 1/2” taller than my 22’s, about 1/2” shorter than the OEM 20” Pirelli AT’s, and slightly wider.

After considering Coopers, Falkens & others, I ended up getting the BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2’s. I’m sure all of these are good tires, with slight tradeoffs between on & off road performance.
I bought TPMS sensors from Tire Rack for $60 each. Tire Rack says these are the OEM Rivian sensors & won’t require any programming. I’ve only driven them for 10-15 miles and the sensors aren’t working yet. We’ll see.

Total cost was just over $3,000.

I’ve only taken it for one drive so far. I set the suspension on sport/lowest/soft at first, got on the freeway and tried to hit bumps. I found some big bumps, and the tires did rub. It sounded like it might’ve only rubbed on the left front. When I raised it to normal/medium height, it didn’t rub. But this is a very small sample.

I have the OEM 20s, but would rather get some cheap aftermarket wheels for real off-roading. I use the KO2 on most of my other vehicles, so your combo is an interesting one, looking forward to hearing how further use and testing goes. Mileage will take pretty good hit, bit I am guessing that’s not a concern.

i take it you needed hub-centric rings?

How’s it handle w that setup?

not trying to be a jerk but be careful since those wheels don’t cover the load rating in the rear… if it’s loaded.

Looks great!!!

I'm going to have to show this to my wife to prove how wrong she was with her opinion of Red Canyon and bronze wheels. If I don't post for a while you know how that went...

So far, there’s barely an increase in road noise. But as these tires wear out I’m sure they’ll get louder.

The more noticeable difference is the improved performance over small, sharp bumps, like parking lot speed bumps. This is now the best performing vehicle I’ve ever driven over those types of bumps. It was very good on the 22’s, now it’s great.

Also, I lived in fear of curbing the 22’s, especially after I damaged one. Drive throughs were terrifying (I shouldn’t be eating that crap anyways). Now I laugh at those situations.

Tires and wheels aside - thank you for posting the pics! I've an RC/OC R1S arriving soon and have not seen pics of 'our' config.

I like the wheel spoke design, looks great. I have an RC R1S on order, trying to decide if I like the bronze color vs black ... I think the bronze looks pretty good.
