Is the tire facing side flat? Or is it recessed, so it will trap mud?

Just finished installing the BestEVMod mud flaps on the R1S. Start to finish was <1hr -including cleaning the wheel-arches & working very slowly and carefully to not screw up the plastics.

Very, very happy with the look, they could "almost" pass for OEM!

@rkalbiar - The tire side is recessed (a small bit), so they might catch a bit of mud. (See photo attached)

The front don't fit as "perfectly flush" as the back - I'm tempted to insert the optional "self-tapping screws" that were included. The double-sided tape at the top corner might need a bit of supplementing in the meanwhile, but I'd rather see how they perform before making any holes in the plastics. (At this point, the mod is 100% reversible to stock).

One small suggestion @BestEvMod(AOSK) - it would be the "cherry on the top" if the included bolts were black instead of silver (I believe black stainless M6 is available). Standing back and admiring the new mud flaps from 20 feet back I can just "glimpse" a touch of silver (vehicle at "Road All-purpose" height"), and while it makes zero functional difference, it's probably going to bug me till I swap or paint them black.

An inexpensive and easy mod - would recommend!

Have you guys noticed any hit to road efficiency? Range reduction/worse Wh/mile?

I ask because mud flaps impacts Tesla MY range, so I've read....
