Yeah I'm leaning into going to the darn dealerships to look at the exact vehicle first. I'm very disappointed that Rivian doesn't show at least some barebone pictures of the pre-owned vehicle that's for sale. I do want to examine certain things as it's not an exact small purchase for me. Found a 2023 with 15K miles for $64K...sound fair? For sure it is not a steal (don't exist unless something is wrong with it). Regarding the fix, that would be nice if I got a 2022 and they can retrofit the subframe thing for me. I just saw the pictures and the welded ones look like it's been done at the chop shop! I mean all 2022s were like that? Those welds don't look too strong either! Thanks for the replies everybody. Greatly appreciate it!
Rivian does have 7 day returns. Helps to ease the fear of ordering sight unseen. I pulled the trigger on a 22 with 27k for 60k and am happy so id say 64 is good for what you said

What I found is the random dealers tend to sell the trucks with more accessories, fobs, crossbars, etc.

This is likely because people trading at random dealers aren't staying in the rivian game so they don't need the stuff.

The truck I bought from rivian didn't have anything extra, not even the spare.
Selling the accessories with the truck was true with the dealers I dealt with. I saw many trucks that had aftermarket accessories.

Mine came with all the factory items, speaker, light, charger, gear guard cable, etc. In addition, I got a tonneau cover, nice aftermarket cargo rails , gear tunnel mat and a few other things. They were all in the gear tunnel and didn't list them in the ad. I really don't see much advantage in buying a used one through Rivian. There can be in some circumstances but wasn't for me.

I'm pretty sure that 7 day/1000 mile return window hasn't been a thing for nearly a year now.

My only advantage was the deal. The used ones outside of rivian were more and got into bidding wars lol the one I got had the longest warranty left for comprehensive I've seen on a 22. That's just coincidence though.

Expires Jan 2028

Plus it's returnable in 7 days

Warranty is miles or years, whichever comes first.

Thanks to everyone that gave me tips. I am a PROUD owner of a blue 2023 R1T Adventure. I have many questions and some concerns about the connectivity and such. Is this the thread I should continue on with or should I start a new one? My bluetooth is greyed out, I don't see kneel mode, missing flashlight and speaker, no tonneau cover of any sort so bed is open, etc. But at least I got a 2023 with low miles. Any input is a bonus at this point! What a beautiful truck it is coming from a Tesla Model 3 standpoint.

Congrats and welcome to the club! Now go drive it 75 mph and see if you have any significant wind noise or buffeting. Keep reading the forum and you'll learn a lot of new stuff about it I am sure.
Feel free to DM me if you have questions and don't want to post them in an open forum.

Want to add, Driver+ sucks!

Did you buy this from Rivian or unaffiliated dealer or private party? If you've already gone through all the connectivity menus to no avail, it might be a failed communications module. Once Rivian process the ownership transfer to you, you'll be able to submit service request for that and missing kneel mode through the Rivian mobile app. Before you do submit a service request, worth trying a hard reset. If ownership has not transferred, I'm not sure if there is any danger in doing a hard reset. Should be fine? Keyfob and keycards should still work and allow you to drive.

You can get the flashlight and camp speaker from the Gear Shop. IMO, skip the camp speaker. It's not worth $400. I've seen them used for $300-350. Even at those prices, it's not worth it. Aftermarket BT speaker, lantern and powerbank can be bought for less. Even the flashlight itself is priced high for a flashlight. And if you see more utility in a hand warmer/powerbank, than a flashlight, Gear Shop has one and it plugs into the same spot.

Tonneau cover, Gear Shop has a manual one. Like most other official items, pricey. Use forum search and you'll find aftermarket alternatives. Cover does not improve aero-efficiency by much. At least, not enough to be conclusive. The bed is in the wake of the cab and Rivian did extensive wind tunnel testing to make sure an uncovered bed is not a factor (spoilers at the top and sides of the cab).

'23 like mine, you probably have a single 300 Hz horn on the driver side. You can visually ID by looking for a horse hoof shaped opening behind the front grille. If you find the horn to be ineffective, there are multiple DIY threads on how to add a second unit of same manufacturer and type (Hella). There are also several videos on YouTube. Or, you can opt for a mini airhorn kit by forum sponsor @RealWheelsEV. This kit taps power from the 12V battery and uses factory horn wiring as trigger via a relay. Also, your '23 likely has a single 12V plus a capacitor (aka battery isolator box). Earlier production has two 12V batteries. Warranty on the 12V is 3 years. Rivian has an active service campaign to replace them in some cars; under warranty.

I think I've driven it back from the dealer (local) at 70+ but wasn't going to be too over confident as this is my first truck! Also I have no idea about my insurance. I'm currently only covered for the traded in Tesla and I have yet to cancel. I am with Tesla insurance. Do you or anyone know if they cover my newer vehicle under the same policy for a specific amount of days? I did add the R1T to the current policy via Tesla app yesterday BUT it doesn't start until a full month! So I tried calling Tesla Insurance and didn't have the time to wait over 1 hour.
I did not hear any irritating noises going on the short 15 minute freeway. I just noticed that most or if not ALL 2023 doesn't have the tonneau covers. Road tires are new and filled with nitrogen to only 41psi. I think I need to do 48 or so? Here is a quick pic I got the next day. It was a long day of negotiating on the financing. Thanks to everyone here for all the great tips and advice. Truly appreciate this community.

Thank you for the tips! I got it at a local Hyundai dealer. Someone must have traded it in within this month or 2. I had the carfax while it was still up for sale, and when I bought it, it was pulled. I'll have to ask the dealer to send me a copy. Regarding the Rivian app (recently updated to 3.0) I have called them to do an owner transfer. They needed the VIN and I think the bill or sale if I remember correctly. And takes 4-5 days. Still waiting so I can only use the fob/cards. I had to replace the fob's battery as it was red showing on the infotainment screen. Really want to clean her up to my standards but this SoCal weather is pretty bad these few days. Do you know if the range estimate (along with %) come down if the battery is degraded? Or does it always show maximum as it was new? I ask because I think Tesla actually shows the decreased range when charged to 100%. A new model 3 performance would be 315miles but after 3-5 years, it will show approximately 300miles or lower.

Range estimate adjusts. And unless previous users abused it and didn’t observe best practices at all, degradation is an overblown phobia. See various published studies by researchers and universities. I hardly ever use the fob. Others say it is power hungry. Rivian recommends specific brand battery, believe it’s mentioned in Owner Guide. If not, pretty sure it’s been shared in a forum thread. 4-5 days for ownership transfer is the canned reply. Some have waited longer.

The reason why I ask is because when it was charged to 98% it showed 349 miles (I'm pretty sure it was on conserve mode). I wonder if that's pretty darn good? May I ask what type of range you get on 100% charge?

Good luck. It might help to broaden your search range as vehicles seem to be priced higher in California.

I don't care about politics. I am only giving up my Teslas when they dead or I find something better. If I could only keep 1 of my cars/trucks it would be my Plaid hands down. My R1T is in second place but could move up if it didn't have so much wind noise. And was almost as quick. And was more efficient. And ...
It's a shame that people's personal car choices are being questioned. I've never owned a Tesla but if someone doesn't like the brand etc-don't buy it. But, dont knock another person for making a different choice. I've never seen this country so divided.
