I have been very impressed with my truck so far it can tow all my trailers from my dump trailer loaded with 4 tons of gravel, to my flatbed trailer hauling my bobcat track loader around. I usually stay around town or 30min away in a neighboring city. I get tons of attention with people who can’t believe what they are seeing and then when I tell them they are surprised again that it can haul a Bobcat. 😂 I would have liked to have bought this truck over 20 years ago when I got my first truck. I have owned 6 trucks before this one and just are not even worth comparing. From Tundra’s to F-250s I couldn’t go back to a regular gasoline truck after owning my R-1T . Now that being said I’m not looking forward to the day the warranty is gone and something breaks, I may not be able to write such a positive review.

Impressive that you are using the R1T as a real work truck whereas I suspect most buyers use their R1T's as personal daily drivers and/or fun vehicles. I think these trucks are over built (at least initially) as Rivian needs to establish themselves. I also have long term concerns especially about the electronics going haywire once the warranty is out and replacing circuits could get very expensive. Please keep updating as to how your R1T is holding up under long term heavy duty use.

Love seeing this! How is your interior holding up after a bunch of in and out in dirty work clothes?

Any tips on cleaning out the various nooks in bed? I’ve been looking for shop vac attachments.

Wow so many questions to ask about durability but most importantly does your power tonneau work?
If you are taking a poll my truck is I year and 1 month old (tomorrow) and my power tonneau still works. The day it was delivered the cover never did open completely into the rear, about 1/2 inch staying out which is not a big deal but the delivery tech told me to put a ticket in anyway which I did. When I took the truck in for a seatbelt recall check a number of months ago another service tech suggested I use a dry lube on the cover grooves which I have done and it still opens and closes but never sounds happy.

I suggest a pressure washer, and willful ignorance. :D
I have a bed mat and I put a tarp in mine when I'm loading dirt or gravel etc, but even with that some gets around and is a PITA to get out from between the seams of the plastic. I hit it with a regular hose sprayer parked on an angle and most of it comes out, but lots of the dirt washes into the tailgate through the drain holes, hopefully no issue with that long-term.
I also pop the spare cover open to wash under that better, but it's a sealed compartment, if you get water in there make sure you clean/dry it, or it'll get really gross in there.

All in all, not a big deal, I'm just going to ignore the dirt that I'm sure is under the plastic since there's nothing I can do about it, but I really don't think it'll be a big deal...

I love my truck and use it some for farm work (limited heavy towing and hauling seed corn, etc in the bed), but I have the same post warranty fears. I now have 44,200 miles on it and just got it back after its 8th service visit in 14 months. Just because I'm lazy had them swap the wipers while they had it....$104.18. Made me wonder what the post warranty trips are going to cost. My tonneau still doesn't work. 🫤

LOL My (former) M3 would like a word.

I read these posts and am reminded that many people here have not recently owned a German car out of warranty, because they are smart and value their sanity.

Have never owned a German car in or out of out of warranty but have heard the repair cost horror stories, I hope our Rivian's don't mirror that if kept past the warranty.🙏

I had a 911 for 12 years and the only issue was the clock would lose a few minutes every month. It was my daily driver. One of the most dependable cars I had.

it's a great car for her; mostly a walmart runner or to take the 130 pound dog to the vet. but oil changes are not free.
