CT owners: Combi registration?

Just got my plates today, 1 month after delivery so all good but they are showing combination rather than passenger, believe driven by GVWR of 8538lbs (limit 8500!)
Is it the same for everyone? No real issue besides some rumblings that it would prevent use of NY parkways? Can't imagine it is accurate given NY allows registration of R1T as passenger

Unless things have changed since I was a kid, Pickup trucks in CT have always had Combination plates.

Combo for me. had a Ridgeline prior and I couldnt carry my personalized plates to the R1T. Need to get combo and reapply for personalized if that’s what I want.

Same, was just on ny pw this weekend, can’t imagine it’s like a tractor trailer on the Merritt
