Tried pairing my Apple Watch but it didn't work.

Android tablet (Samsung A7 Lite) and the RoadTop CarPlay unit both paired without issue. Android tablet had perfect sound quality, however the the RoadTop unit had choppy A2DP (music) audio on first connection and awful HFP (phone call) quality. Disconnecting and reconnecting would fix the A2DP chop but not the HFP quality.

No. The cable cannot sense if it is cut.

My R1S will likely live on my uncovered driveway, and I’m concerned about leaving the charging door open long-term (albeit when plugged in) and subject to the elements. Curious to hear if other R1 owners are in a similar situation, and whether there is cause for concern or not.

Should be fine. There’s a little flap to keep the DCFC contacts protected, and the Rivian wall charger actually has a little gasket to seal to the vehicle a little bit.

I used the travel charger in May at a rainy cabin in Packwood, no problems to report. We just installed the Rivian wall charger at our Lake Cushman cabin, I'll let you know if we get issues come the fall rains. So far it's been good though, says it's rated for the elements.
